Welcome to Empowering Growth and Healing Therapy! I know life can be so challenging and navigating relationships, children, careers, finances, and taking care of yourself can be so demanding. Just when you think you have it all under control, life throws some curve balls your way and you may have a hard time adjusting. You may even feel fatigue from constant pivoting and trying to find what works for you.
I am ready to meet you where you are and get you therapy you deserve!
I specialize in therapy for adults 18+, children, ages 6+, and teens who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and identity crisis. I meet with clients virtually or in-person at my comfortable office space in Burlingame or San Carlos, California. Therapy with me offers a space where you can come as you are and find your sense of peace and calm.
I am currently a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #145701 and I am working towards licensure. This means I have a supervisor, Alex Tsai, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #96390 that I communicate with on a weekly basis concerning client cases. I work with a private group practice, One Life Counseling, with locations throughout South San Francisco, California.

I am excited to work with your child or teen in therapy! Therapy typically involves building a trusting relationship in the early stages and I will get to know your child’s strengths and interests. Therapy for adults is typically 50 minute sessions and involve open conversations about your thoughts and feelings and how they are impacting you on a daily basis. I honor your life experiences and will support you in working towards your goals. I also offer weekly and bi-weekly therapy for adults to move at your pace.

Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. The choice depends on your comfortability and schedule. Some clients like the convenience of online therapy from their home, while others feel more comfortable with in-person therapy.

A credit/debit card is required to be kept on file and payment will be due at the time of your scheduled session.

My rate is $150 per 50 minute session. Longer sessions will be prorated in 15 minute intervals.

I do not take insurance due to regulations by insurance companies that are not in the best interest of therapists or clients. However, I can provide a super bill for potential reimbursement and many insurances offer out of network benefits. Please check with your insurance for more details.

I provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. It is important to note that super bills do not guarantee reimbursement. Many insurances offer out of network benefits. You can contact your insurance to determine if our sessions can be covered in your out of network benefits.

Clients typically find themselves in therapy for 3-5 months with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. The length of therapy depends on your individual challenges and goals. After therapy with me, you have the option to schedule sessions on in “as needed” basis.

I have a 24 hour cancellation / reschedule/ no show policy. This means if you cancel, reschedule, or no show within 24 hours of your scheduled session, you will be billed the full session fee. This excludes emergency situations, which will be determined by therapist at time of phone call.

Therapy is confidential unless I suspect you are in danger of harming yourself or others. There are also legal exceptions to confidentiality, which we will discuss at the beginning of therapy. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I have a supervisor that I communicate with on a weekly basis, so I can give the best care to my clients.
